How to add a honeypot field in Contact Form 7

Steps for adding a honeypot field in Contact Form 7, which helps to prevent spam.

Steps

I. Install the plugin

1. Click Plugins
2. Click Add New
3. Search for Contact Form 7 Honeypot
4. Click Install Now next to Honeypot for Contact Form 7 by Nocean
5. Click Activate

II. Add the honeypot field to your contact form

1. Click Contact
2. Click Contact Forms
3. Click the form to add the honeypot field to
4. Click Honeypot to insert the field
5. Change the Name, e.g. to “website”
6. Click Insert Tag
7. Click Save
8. Test your form (it should continue to work the same as before)
